Professional Women & Working Mums: Grab my FREE Burnout Recovery Guide.

Busy? Stressed? Dry skin? Poor digestion?

In Ayurvedic science the symptoms of vata dosha out of balance are nervousness, anxiety, dry skin, constipation, dislike of cold and wind, feeling spacey/scattered. To bring back balance routine is key and warm, nourishing meals are recommended.

Whilst reheating food is not ideal in Ayurvedic science, having a pre-soaked porridge not only improves digestion of the oats but is perfect if you are time poor or unlikely to actually follow through with making a proper breakfast every day. Here’s the recipe for my chai-spiced overnight oats:

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sultanas
  • 1/4 cup dates sliced thinly
  • 1 heaped tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk or substitute or water

Mix everything in an air-tight container and soak overnight in the fridge. Heat a serve on the stove each day for breakfast. (Will keep for a few days in the fridge).
