‘Diet willpower’ is a little misleading, as I don’t believe that willpower is necessary to achieve your (diet) goals.
In fact, the more we do to eliminate willpower from the equation, the more likely we are to succeed.
In this episode I talk about the importance of spending as much time as possible in your base state so that it’s easier to want to make good choices, instead of simply rely on willpower.
Your base state is essentially how you feel, think and behave without the influence of substances that change our state – substances like alcohol, sugar and caffeine.
